GRACE COUNSELLOR TRAINING COURSE
LAY COUNSELLORS
Lay counsellors are those who have a Spiritual calling to care for the mental and emotional wellbeing of others. They volunteer their valuable time to provide support and guidance to others who are experiencing emotional problems and difficulties that impact their life. This is done through structured sessions.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
- Anyone wanting to be equipped to provide emotional support and useful tools to journey with someone facing life challenges.
- Anyone who often finds themselves in a position where people come to them with their life issues, and you feel that you are not equipped.
- Anyone desiring to invest in their own personal growth.
- Anyone who is a Group Life/Small Group Leader.
- Anyone comes into contact in their Church role.
THE COURSE OFFERS
- Biblically based training with practical applications, tools, and assessments.
- The Grace Model theory, helping people to understand their story and guiding them into right relationship with Jesus.
- Skills Training
- A journey of self-development and personal growth.
- The opportunity to be equipped to provide short-term counselling with the focus of it being goal orientated.
STUDY OPTIONS
VIA DISTANCE LEARNING (Complete the course):
- In your own space
- In your own time so that you can work around your schedule
- Without missing any sessions
- Run over 10 weeks in January and again in September.

MENTORSHIP
Students that pass the relevant criteria of the training course are invited to join the Grace Counselling Mentorship Programme, where they will come under Mentorship with Lead Counsellors in actual counselling sessions.
To ensure continued personal development, The Mentorship Program includes:
- Continued support from Grace Counselling.
- Case debriefing.
- Pastoral Counsellor Coaching.
- Upskill Sessions.
- Workshops.
